We're all quarantined right now & I've found myself talking about the Jets to myself FAR too many times. As you can see from my name, I've been a Jets fan since the 1995-1996 season (I was 6 years old). I wasn't going to be at first though. A few of my friends were Cowboys fans & I thought I'd follow trend & become one as well. When my dad got wind of it, he put an end to that. Sitting in our TV room one Sunday he told me that the team I would root for was the New York Jets. When I asked why do we like the Jets, my father replied, "You'll understand one day". Well it's been 25 years & I still have no clue why I like them. Since my inaugural season as a fan, I've seen my beloved franchise make the playoffs 7 times & they've broke my heart WAY more than that. I think I'm still recovering from the Week 17 loss to the Bills in the 15-16 season. Every season I talk myself into that this is going to be the year that the Jets are going to have a solid season & make a run in the playoffs & every season (other than those 7) they let me down, usually fairly early. This blog is just a collection of my thoughts about the Jets. It's almost like a therapy for me, because we all know that we need it when rooting for the Jets. So sit back, relax, & hopefully you enjoy what I have to say.
Dave this is very inspirational! I appreciate your candidness and the passion and desire you show towards this franchise. Here are some fun facts to always remember why you’re a jet fan.
1. You have a perfect super bowl record
2. You’re not known for being good at football. You’re known for being good at losing, regret, and butt fumbles.
3. You lost fireman Ed but showed resilience and got him back.
4. You share a stadium with the better ny team
5. You have an awesome tailgate. One of the better ones in the nfl! This is the only fact that matters so disregard everything else above!
