Another week, another loss. So let's get into this weeks edition of The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly.

Solid debut for the rookie WR

The Good: This was easier to do this week.

1) The Rookies: Joe Douglas' rookie class had a nice day yesterday. Mekhi Becton, Denzel Mims, La'Mical Perine, Ashtyn Davis, Braden Mann & Bryce Huff all did a solid job contributing to the offense. I greatly enjoy watching Becton toss the defensive players around & hope that is a site I keep seeing for future years. Mims made his debut yesterday & did a nice job getting himself open for some easy catches. His block on Perine's TD run was awesome as well. I truly believe he'll be a big addition to the WR corp moving forward. Perine finally got the ball & he took advantage of the opportunity. He had nice burst out of the backfield & his TD run was nicely time. Hopefully he starts to get more carries. Like Perine, Davis started to see more reps as well & did a solid job. Mann did his job, that's all you can ask for. Finally, Huff continues to impress coming off the edge. Once again, i'm shocked that he went undrafted. It looks like JD found a diamond in the rough with Huff.

2) Quinnen Williams: This was another game where Q showed why the Jets made him the #3 pick in the '19 draft. Q finished the day with 4 tackles, 1 TFL, & 1 sack & was a disruptive force throughout. If the Jets could finally find an elite EDGE it would make life so much easier for Q, but the fact that he's doing this without one shows that the skills are there.

3) Tarrell Basham: Basham had the play of the game for the defense with his strip sack of Josh Allen. He flew off the edge to make that happen which was quite impressive. Basham has turned himself into a nice situational EDGE player which is needed. Again, he's another guy who would benefit greatly if the Jets actually had an elite EDGE, so hopefully that one day happens.

Not the best day for Sam Darnold

The Bad: Once again, this will be short.

1) Sam Darnold: I still refuse to give up on Sammy D, but I will also always hold him accountable. Darnold started out the game great. He was directing the offense, his passes looked sharp, & he was hitting his WR's in stride. End of the half though, he made that boneheaded INT into triple coverage which led to a Bills FG's. That's Darnold for you, he will look great, but he still makes 1-2 boneheaded plays a game which have you going, "Why". The second half was a complete disaster for him, as well as the entire offense, but there was a lot left to be desired. Yes, he had zero time in the 2nd half, but he still missed on some throws that needed to be completed. Again, I am not giving up on Sammy D, but he didn't prove his naysayers wrong yesterday. He has 9 more games to do that or the #TankForTrevor talk is going to get louder & louder.

2) The Tight Ends: I don't know, maybe the Jets didn't realize that yesterday was #National TightEndsDay, but the TE corp was nonexistent. Ryan Griffin got paid & has disappeared, Trevon Wesco dropped an easy reception, & thought Chris Herndon had a nice catch & run called back due to penalty, he wasn't involved in the offense at all. It's beyond frustrating watching this group underperform. Yes, a lot of it has to do with the play calling, but it's also them not making the plays when given the chance.

3) The Rest of the Defense: I went back & forth where to put the rest of the defense. Yes, they held the Bills to 6 FG's in the game, which should result in a win, but at the end of the day, they just didn't do enough. The forced 0 punts on the day, didn't provide enough pressure, & when they had opportunities to grab INT's they dropped them. And let's not forget even more missed tackles, something this unit unfortunately lead the league in. They just have to do more, plain & simple.

I didn't know he actually coaches

The Ugly: And away we go.....

1) Adam Gase: I always have to start off with Adam Gase, it just feels right. So Gase gave up his play calling duties yesterday, which is great, but what exactly did he do then? According to him he just "observed" but why is that acceptable for an "Offensive Genius". That's absolutely PATHETIC! There was zero adjustment in the 2nd half & it's a big part of the reason why the offense had 4 total yards the entire half. 4!!!! Once again, in a league where 90% of the teams can score 20+ points by halftime, the Jets struggle with reaching that for the entire game. Holding the team to 18 points should be an easy victory, but Jets fans knew that it was going to take a miracle yesterday for the Jets to win. Good lord Adam Gase SUCKS!

2) Dowell Loggains: I'll admit, I had zero clue that he actually knows how to coach. The first half looked great. There seemed to be some life in the offense & it was nice seeing him talk to the offensive players on the sideline, unlike the bimbo with the, "Brilliant Offensive Mind". However, just like I said with Gase, there were zero adjustments made in the 2nd half. That just can't happen. It's real simple for defensive coordinators to plan for the Jets every week. Just do what you can to limit them in the first half, then in the 2nd just press the WR's & send the house at Darnold. How about a RB screen once in awhile! It's beyond pathetic that Gase & Loggains direct the offense.

3) OL excluding Becton: This OL is still such a work in progress. Besides Becton, they missed so many assignments & gave Darnold zero time in the 2nd half. Josh Andrews accounted for 2 sacks & a false start & should be nowehre near a field. Conor McGovern did not have one of his better games & has been 50/50 so far this season. Same goes for George Fant. Team continue to blitz up the middle on the Jets & they continue to get by the IOL. Missing out on Joe Thuney REALLY hurt this team. The line is better than last year, which isn't really saying much, but there is still so much work to go with this unit.

4) The Johnson Brothers: Fire Gase & give FULL control the JD or SELL THE TEAM!

5) Peyton Manning: This is your fault, I hate you.

I would like to solve the puzzle

Well folks, that's it for another edition of The Good, The Bad, & the Ugly. This team is hot trash & I really don't think they'll win a game. This Sunday's game is going to be a joke & I fully expect Lev Bell to go off for 200+ total yards. When that happens, next weeks addition of this will be fun. Until next time Jets fans & remember.......... #TakeFlight

FIRE THIS BUM!
