Today starts my weekly blog about the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly of the Jets game the day prior.

Folks, yesterday can be described in one word........GROSS!

The stink of the New York Jets hits all

Let's dive into the much of Week 1 for our beloved Jets:

Bless Austin causing the Josh Allen fumble

The Good: I had to dig deep to really find the good in this game. After pondering, I was able to find a few. How, I'm not really sure, but I did.

1)Jamison Crowder: Started off slowly but picked it up in the 2nd half. The 69yd TD catch & run was one of the slowest I've ever seen, but at least he scored.

2) Mekhi Becton: Yes, the mammoth of the rookie did allow a sack, but overall I think he did a pretty good job in going up against one of the better rushers in the league Jerry Hughes. Becton also had a few blocks in the run game that even gave my frowning face a somewhat of a smile.

3) Bless Austin: Ever since he got benched in the Steelers game, Austin has had a chip on his shoulder. Austin did a fairly decent job in coverage yesterday but were he excelled was in the run game. He was not afraid to mix it up (8 tackles/1 TFL) & even forced Josh Allen to fumble, which isn't all that difficult, but still it was nice to see.

4) Marcus Maye: Maye was in the Fake Leaders role from last year & he really excelled. He finished with a stat line of: 10 tackles, 2 TFL's, & 2 sacks. Maye's had a strong camp & it carried over into Week 1.

This was definitely another missed tackle

The Bad:There was more bad than good this week, so let's get right into it.

1) The entire DL: I could not count how many times the entire DL unit whiffed at tackling Josh Allen. The DL had so many opportunities to make TFL's & sacks on Allen yesterday but just refused to wrap up which is beyond irritating. It does not matter how good of a runner he is, they needed to break down & shoot for his hips instead of diving at his shoes. Quinnen Williams made more of an impact with his penalties than his play, that needs to change fast. Frankie Luvu had a nice pressure or two but where was Jordan Jenkins yesterday? Finally, Henry Anderson looks like he's mailed it in ever since he got re-signed, that's sad.

2) Pierre Desir: WOOF. Desir was making me have flash back of Kyle Wilson playing 15yds off the WR. He did not even make it through the whole game before getting benched. Not looking good for the offseason acquisition who some thought could have a nice season for the Jets.

3) Gregg Williams: I'll be honest, I like Williams, but yesterday was not his best game coaching the defense. He needed to make adjustments quickly & he just seemed to sit back far too long before making them. Williams is big on making it work with what he has, but that did not seem like the case yesterday. Hopefully it was just one bad game & it turns around moving forward.

4) WR's not named Jamison Crowder: Other than Crowder, the WR's/TE's struggled yesterday. There was little to no separation & there were some balls that needed to be caught that weren't. I was really disappointed with Chris Herndon yesterday. All the talk was how good he looked but he did not do anything until he picked up a bunch of receptions in garbage time. He needs to be more of a factor if this offense is to do anything.

5) Sam Darnold: I am not giving up on Sam Darnold, I repeat, I AM NOT GIVING UP ON SAM DARNOLD. But I will be fair, & yesterday was not good. That INT was bad, plain & simple. There were also too many times where he began scrambling when he did not need to. This makes me nervous because I am hoping he is not getting a case of, "Happy Feet". His footwork looked off & he missed a few throws he needed to make. Hopefully that changes moving forward.

Adam Gase not knowing what to do, yet again.

The Ugly: You know what I'm about to dive into so BUCKLE UP!

1) Adam Gase: This guy SUCKS, simple as that. Mike Greenberg said it best on his show this morning, "This guy would be in over his head coaching a 5th grade football team". Greeny is 200% right, Gase has no clue how to coach. He sucks, just sucks. The Jets were not ready to play yesterday, & that's on him. How can you go into Week 1 of the season & not be prepared? Gase SUCKS. It honestly enraged me yesterday watching his offense. How many bubble screens is he going to call? Oh look another 2nd Down run, how creative. I thought this guy was a "Offensive Genius"? Gase couldn't beat a 3rd grader in a game of Madden. HE SUCKS! The best part is, he took no fault after the game & started his typical game of pointing the fingers at others. And of course the beat writers in his pocket quickly began the articles questioning Darnold. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? If you think Darnold is the problem & not Gase, then you know nothing about football. Gase has done nothing to help elevate Darnold & some would even say he's starting to cause him to regress a bit. Also, during his blame game interview, Gase admitted to sending Lev Bell back out to the field when he was obviously hurt. This is him 100% trying to sabotage his best offense players season since he does not fit into "HIs System"? What system you ask? I'm not even sure because what I saw yesterday was not an NFL caliber offense. Gase should have never been brought back after last season & he proved that by how the team looked yesterday. GASE SUCKS!

2) Peyton Manning: Manning gets a special shout out because he convinced the Johnson Family to hire Gase in the first place. I now officially hate Peyton Manning for doing that. He is enemy #1 to me now.

In all, I think you can tell that I was not pleased with how yesterday went. This was the first time my girlfriend & her daughter watched a Jets game with me & it may be there last. Not really sure if they found my yelling at the TV funny or concerning. Yesterday marked 25 years as a Jets fan & I set a new record of giving up on the season when I announced it at halftime. An all time low for me. I'm already in a dark place with the Jets & they've only played 1 game. I have to deal with this team for 15 more games. Not really sure how I'm going to do it, please pray for me. So that's all for the 1st edition of the Good, the Bad, & the Ugly. Until next week Jets Faithful. Oh & also, ADAM GASE SUCKS! #TakeFlight
