The 10-6 Convincing

Well everyone, the Jets 2020 Schedule has finally been realized. Like every year I study it for far too many hours to see: A) Which game or games I'd like to attend & B) What record they can potentially have. I've been doing this for as long as I can remember, & every year I convince myself that they will go 10-6. Why? Well I have 0 clue. But every year I tell myself I won't do it & every year I end up doing it. I always break it down into 4 quarters & look at the record each quarter. So let's see how I convince myself on 10-6 this year......

Quarter 1: @Bills, vs.49ers, @Colts, vs.Broncos(TNF)

Analysis: A very back & forth first quarter of the season with the Jets going away, home, away, & home. This season once again opens up against the Bills & I have a very strong feeling that the Jets will be looking to avenge last season's Week 1 loss to them. If Sam Darnold doesn't get mono again & CJ Mosley doesn't tear his groin, I feel good about this game. The back to back 49ers & Colts games are tough & could spell trouble for the Jets. Finally, the Broncos are an up & coming team, but I think the Jets may be a step ahead of them.

Record: 2-2

Quarter 2: vs.Cardinals, @Chargers, vs. Bills, @Chiefs

Analysis: Similar to quarter 1, quarter 2 provides a very back & forth schedule for the Jets. I think the Cardinals are this years Cleveland Browns as they are getting far to over hyped this off season. The Chargers will be tough away, but can see the Jets getting the better of them. I don't see the Jets sweeping the Bills so they split their season with them & the Chiefs are just way ahead of were the Jets are as a franchise.

Record: 2-2

Quarter 3: vs. Patriots(MNF), @Dolphins, vs. Dolphins, vs. Raiders

Analysis: This is a very BIG stretch for the Jets. All these games are very winnable for them & after going 2-2 in both the first two quarters, this is where they need to make a move. Getting the Patriots on Monday Night Football again would be a great revenge for the "Seeing Ghosts" game. However, it won't be easy, even with Brady in Tampa Bay. Back to back games against the Dolphins, with a bye in between, is also important due to them being divisional games. If they can find a way to win both that would be HUGE for them. Home against the Raiders is nice & hopefully they can win big like they did last year against them.

Record: 3-1

Quarter 4: @Seahawks, @Rams, vs. Browns, @Patriots

Analysis: The final quarter is important if the Jets want to make the playoffs. I'm going to say 0 chance against the Seahawks, but the other three games are very winnable. I think the Rams still have another faulty season this year, so even with being on the West Coast, I think the Jets get the W. The final two games against the Browns & Patriots would both be GREAT feelings to get the win & with a playoff spot on the line, the Jets find a way to get it done.

Record: 3-1

Season Record: 10-6

So there you have it folks, that's how I convinced myself on the Jets going 10-6 this season. Now will it happen? I hope so, but again I try not to get my hopes up with this team. Anything can happen to any team once the season starts with either injuries or poor play, but hopefully the Jets remain healthy, unlike last year, & also perform to their ability. So now we wait, for hopefully a 10-6 season. #TakeFlight
