Well fans, it finally happened. The Jets selected an offensive linemen with their first pick.

While watching the draft (while on Zoom with my friend), the Panthers & Cardinals picks both made me nervous. But thankfully both went defense. After that, I knew the Jets would grab a top OT. Now I had friends who wanted Tristan Wirfs & others than wanted Mechki Becton, but in the end, the Jets got a solid OT. Do I think Wirfs will be good, yes I do. But I think Becton brings a lot more upside at the LT position. This guy is a MONSTER of a man, & will be a dominate force in both the run game & protecting Darnold when he's back to pass.

Did my dad yell out, "I hope he isn't a bust"? Yes, yes he did. But that's because he's a "disgruntled Jets fan", as he puts it, so I let it slide (Love you dad).

Just remember everyone, the last time the Jets went OL in the 1st round was when they drafted D'Brickashaw Ferguson & Nick Mangold back in the '06 draft & look how that worked out. By the way, I was wearing my Mangold jersey tonight so I like to think that brought us Jets fans good luck with the Jets going OL at 11.

Now where do the Jets go from here? Well the Jets have three selections in round 2-3 with picks 48, 68 (Thank you Giants), & 79. If it was up to me, they'd go all offense with a combination of two WR's & another OL. Hopefully Joe Douglas does this, but due to past GM's, I'm not getting my hopes up.

There are still plenty of solid WR's on the board & if the Jets draft right they can come away tonight with two solid contributors to their offense. Plenty starting caliber WR's are available still & I think the Jets should draft one at 48 & then another at either 68/79. Going off of that, they can then continue to build their offensive line by selecting an IOL with either pick 68/79.

What I hope happens:

#48: Denzel Mims

#68: Michael Pittman Jr.

#79: Matt Hennessy

Now do I think that'll happen? No, because I'm not the GM. But if something close to that happens, I'll be ecstatic. What does need to happen though is Joe Douglas making valuable selection in the 2nd & 3rd round. Us Jets fan know how HORRIBLE the Jets 2nd & 3rd round selections have been pretty much the last decade +. I don't want to name, names because I don't want to make you all sick, but we all know that, that can't happen tomorrow.

So far so good from Joe Douglas, let's see what he does tonight. #TakeFlight
