Well ladies and gentlemen, Jamal Adams is no longer a New York Jet.

When the news broke yesterday of the trade to Seattle, my first thought was to get on here and write this article. However, after thinking it over, I wanted to see how Jamal acted on Twitter first and I'm glad I did. Jamal Adams was an absolute EMBARRASSMENT yesterday after he found out he was heading to the Seahawks. It was very Antonio Brown esque and then he has the audacity to thank not only the Jets, but the fans he betrayed as well. What a chump move by a guy who claims that he's the, "Prez".

Now if you know me, you know that I LOVED Jamal Adams. When he was drafted back in '17 I remember telling my dad that he was going to be a franchise changer for our beloved Jets. At first he seemed like he was. Jamal came in as a rookie and started calling out former Jets Calvin Pryor, Mo' Wilkerson, Leo Williams, and other guys who just didn't want to work hard. He talked about changing the locker room culture and being a leader even as a rookie. As a fan who was disgusted by how some of these guys carried themselves on & off the field, I was pumped to see a guy like Jamal come in & start to fix a broken team.

Over his three year tenure on the Jets, you could never knock Jamal's play on the field. Yes, you can look at his stats & see the low interception amount, but he does so much more on the field than that. He has been the best Jets defender since Week 1 '17 & made a lot of impact plays that changed the course of a game. Hey, we will always have the image of him blowing past Saquon Barkley & taking the ball right out of Daniel Jones' hands & returning it for a TD.

But it wasn't his in field play that caused the destruction of Jamal Adams, it was his off the field antics. His constant complaining on Twitter about a contract extension grew really old really fast & his public desire to play for a new team annoyed many of Jets fans, including myself. The list he put out a few weeks back was pathetic & there was a part of me that wanted Joe Douglas to ship him to a team like the Bengals & just let him rot. What really did me in though was that pathetic interview he did with Manish Mehta that was released Friday. Reading it, it sounded like a little kid who got in trouble & instead of owning up to it just sat there pointing the finger & blaming others. Jamal has changed his stance multiple times this off season at who he's mad at & Jets fans, including myself, soon began to realize that he was just pulling excuses out of his ass to not hurt his public image any further.

Now who's to blame for this situation? Depending on who you are, the blame finger could go in a different direction, but to me, the blame should all be on Jamal Adams. Yes, it's easy to blame Adam Gase because he's a terrible coach & like his time in Miami drives players away. But I'll give him a pass here for once because Jamal's cry baby antics were that bad. I do not care if Joe Douglas "promised" an extension back in January, you DO NOT go public about it via Twitter. Maybe Douglas really did want to extend Adams, but it seems like the Johnson's cash strapped him this off season & the COVID-19 pandemic did not help either. Regardless of all of that, Jamal acted like a diva. He showed that he's a FAKE LEADER & a "me" player. A winning team does not have "me" players & Jamal's record with the Jets, 16-32 shows that he's not the franchise changer he proclaimed to be.

It was a wild day yesterday. Once the trade broke, I did not stop tweeting the rest of the day. If you follow me on Twitter, which you should, you saw I went at Adams plenty but also former bum Jets players Darron Lee & Darryl Roberts. The Roberts back & forth was hilarious because he actually thinks he's a good NFL player. Attached is the convo in case you want to see:

So the Jamal Adams era is over. You may be wondering what I think about the return the Jets got for him, but I will save that for another article. Like I said before, I was as big of a Jamal Adams fan as there could be, but the fake leader showed his true colors these past few months & enough is enough. You can't win with a player like him & to me, it's addition by subtraction for this Jets team. "Luv" Jamal, you were a false prophet. #TakeFlight
